Sicily – An Unspoilt Paradise

My initial impressions of Sicily were pretty mixed. But what certainly came to mind at the mention of this beautiful Italian island were: mafia, crime and poverty.

Since travelling there alone is a NO -NO, I thought that I would never have the chance to visit this much talked-about island.

But who knows? A friend of mine proposed that we go on a holiday together during his summer break and when I asked him where he would like to go, he said: “Sicily?” I was like: “Oh my god! YES!”

For 9 days we covered by buses and scooter QUAINT towns like: Giardini-Naxos, Taormina, Siracusa, Ortygia, Noto, Palazzolo Acreide, Catania and Agrigento.

I really wish that time then would have had stopped for eternity. Because I felt that I was in paradise.

Mafia? Not at all! Pickpockets? Except in big cities like Palermo. We experienced fantastic Sicilian hospitality, friendliness and kindness at every step of the way! Non parlo inglese? Yes, the young people do! If not, their animated gestures will will get the point across in any case.

Rich in history, culture, food and nature, Sicily has something for everyone!

So why are you hesitating?
