Sicilia, amore mia! Part 1 – Ciao Sicilia! From the heights at Castelmola

Castelmola is one of the prettiest mountain villages in Sicily. Located above Taormina, this village offers a bird’s eye view of all its surroundings: Bay of Giardini-Naxos and Mt Etna.

To get up there, the best is to take a scooter. Streets are really narrow and winding. Not many parking spaces as well, in fact, cars are prohibited from entering this town.

Explore this quiet village of about 1,000 inhabitants by foot and discover its charm with the ancient churches  like Santuario della Madonna della Rocca and the lovely small shops and eateries in the unexpected small lanes that will take you by surprise.

In any case, scooters are very practical to move around in the towns of Sicily, and fun too!
